Chart Thai leader Banharn Silapa-archa, his Puea Pandin counterpart Suwit Khunkitti, and Puea Pandin's chief adviser Vatana Asavahame yesterday called a press conference after a working dinner.
They said any coalition leader they would join must agree to their conditions: reverence for the monarchy, respect for Privy Council president Prem Tinsulanonda, no revenge against political foes, no interference into the judicial process against ex-PM Thaksin Shinawatra, and no dissolution of the Assets Examination Committee.
"We can work with any political party that accepts these conditions," Banharn said.
He said these conditions had not been proposed to the People Power Party. "We have just made public our conditions and we welcome it if the PPP accepts them," he said, adding he expected the PPP to approach his alliance.
If these are the real conditions, then PPP is getting off easy. No demands for cabinet positions? No Banharn for PM? These "demands" are quite reasonable if political positions and money are excluded from the equation.

Asked why the conditions did not include the possible amnesty to the 111 banned executives of the disbanded Thai Rak Thai Party, Banharn said the alliance had not discussed the matter.
I guess the rule of law should only apply to Thaksin and nobody else. Not surprising coming from Banharn, considering he is one of the most corrupt politicians in the history of Thai politics.
"We haven't gone that far. That's an individual matter. We focused on security matters," Banharn said.
Security matters = Thaksin? Security matters = "Respect for Prem"

The five conditions which this mannequin has suggested are patently just an excuse for him to join a certain political party to form the government. If he is truly sincere about what he is going to do, why did he not propose additional constraints; for instance the government should refuse to declare an amnesty for the former 111 members of the Thai Rak Thai party. In the end, it is merely a way to make him look better before he participates in the new government. Sometimes I wonder what the difference between a Thai politician and a gigolo is.

Banharn definitely will be joining Samak, after all from their smell it is impossible to make a distinction between this duo.

No freaking politician would blurt out how much money they demanded to form coalition. That why there is alway a rumour of money requested (this time 1 billion).

Because PPP want amnesty, but Puea Pandin NEED amnesty. IMO, Chart Thai would love to do that, but got blocked.
