Cracks in the runway at Thailand's Suvarnabhumi Airport

Flights at Suvarnabhumi Airport delayed as repairs of cracks continue

Airlines Afraid to Use New Airport

The Nation reports that Suvarnabhumi Airport had to shut because of hazardous cracks in the runway.

As those of us who live in Thailand know that contractors usually do a shoddy job at road construction. There are thousands of crappy roads in Thailand that attest to this fact. I'm sure that the faulty runway is a result of corruption. In other words, whoever got the contract to build the runways probably had no idea what they were doing, and they only got the contract because they either were part of the Thaksin government or knew somebody in the Thaksin government.

Why won't The Nation report on who is responsible for supervising the runways and the contractors who were responsible for building them?

Tourists going to Thailand beware. Your lives are in danger, because corrupt Thai politicians would rather make money off corruption more than they care about human life, especially foreign life.
